At the end of last semester, students may have noticed that the Wintergreen building was receiving something of a facelift. Over the winter break the Wintergreen building had been going under renovations of its main interior and office spaces.
At the end of last semester the construction and renovations were not that far in, and the main area of the building was closed off. Now though, the renovations have moved back, and students are able to see some of the new stylings the renovations are granting the building.
While students may be interested in the new building, the faculty in Wintergreen such as Jian Chan, assistant Manager of Internet Services, also finds the renovations refreshing.
“I’m very excited about the changes that are happening to Wintergreen,” said Chan. “It really transformed the space, making it more open and welcoming.”
Beyond this, Chan also sees the benefit, aesthetically, for not only the current student body, but also for future classes to come.
“The renovations are not complete, but from what I can see it has a much more modern feel to it,” said Chan, “I think this will resonate more with the current and incoming students to Southern.”
However, while the renovations are not complete, students are still able to take a look at the renovations which have been done so far, though there are closed off areas. While the renovations are still going on, this does not mean that the Wintergreen office functions are closed down until renovations are complete. In fact, students are still able to go to the Wintergreen building for any of the appropriate needs.
