Well spring is finally here! Though it may not always feel like it is, between the rain and the little bit of snow that is still on the ground. Nevertheless, we can finally say spring is here. With spring being here this means that the windows will be open allowing the nice fresh air to fill your dorm room. It’s now time to spruce up your dorm or room with a new spring crafts and ideas.
This DIY is easy to make and easy to afford. Give it a try and make your room free, light, and airy for the new season that is now upon us!
“I recently made this burlap spring wreath, and I love the way the yellow and burlap compliment each other. So cheery!
Here is what I used:
· One yard of burlap, cut into 2″ strips
· One wreath form (I used a pool noodle I have used before, bent into a circle and taped together at the ends)
· Three small bundles of spring flowers (Dollar Tree)
· Jute twine and about one yard of white lace
· Craft paper
· Craft scissors
· Letters
· Flowers
· Hot glue
· Scissors
· Hole punch
· Glue stick
How to make:
I began by wrapping each strip of burlap around the wreath shape, tacking the ends down with hot glue as I covered the wreath base.
Once the base was covered I cut my white lace into a few pieces, wrapping each around one side of the wreath and tacking down.
Next I wrapped some jute the other side of the wreath and tucked my floral sprigs in place.
I cut out six pieces of craft paper and used my decorative scissors across the bottom of each. Using a hole puncher I made holes in the upper corners and wove a piece of jute thru each, creating a banner. I added my letters and flowers, and hung it across the burlap, tying the ends to the wreath to secure.”
This is a fun pop of color for your home for spring.
