Celebrity Gossip: Charlie Sheen not “winning”
By Carissa Duhamel
Remember when Charlie Sheen had a drug-induced meltdown and insisted that he was “winning” back in 2011? Though that was a successful publicity stint that catapulted the ex “Two and a Half Men” star into celebrity infamy, Sheen wasn’t winning then and he certainly isn’t winning now. The 48-year-old actor recently lost any semblance of custody over his four-year-old twin sons, Bob and Max, in the aftermath of his messy divorce from their mother, Brooke Mueller, 36.
Sheen’s second ex-wife, Denise Richards, 42, volunteered care for the troubled FX star’s sons in May of 2013 after custody was revoked from their mother and Sheen’s most recent former bride. Now, six, months later, Richards has relinquished her temporary custody of the boys due to their violent actions towards their half-sisters, Sam and Lola, her two daughters with Sheen, and her adopted daughter Eloise.
She wrote in a letter to the boys social workers that Sheen’s sons were “violent and out of control,” physically attacking both her pets and people.
In the unfortunate wake of the boys’ acting out behavior – no doubt due to their already drama-ridden short lives thanks to their drug-loving parents – custody has now been given to Mueller’s brother, Scott, who stated that he would be moving into his sister’s home…and that he wanted $55,000 a month from Charlie Sheen. Brooke Mueller is also set to gradually regain full custody of her children by Christmas as she attempts to progress towards sober life.
Sheen recently lost visitation rights to his sons due to his bad mouthing of the Department of Child and Family Services. He also has been placed under a gag order restricting him from speaking out about his ongoing custody battle, which he promptly violated via Twitter last week calling Mueller “an adderall snorting husk” and the judge over his case an “anus-brain.”
Yeah, Sheen is definitely losing.
“[S]o lemme see if I got this straight. [My] twin boys are now in harms way and in grave danger,” he tweeted, “‘[B]eing ‘raised’ by a gaggle of incompetent and lascivious marionettes all ruled and fooled by an adderall snorting husk called Brooke. [A]nd guess what CPS and ‘I’m Italian’ judge anus-brain, you may have gagged me temporarily, but mark my unspoken words, anything happens to my boys, and you will know get to know me, know who I truly am, a loving father.”
To backtrack, when the unhappy couple divorced in May of 2011, Mueller was awarded custody of the boys while Sheen flitted in and out of rehab. However, the Albany-native socialite mother of the growing tots didn’t prove herself to be any better a caregiver than her ill-famed ex-husband – she too has frequented rehab for drug addiction, forfeiting care of her sons to Richards during an inpatient program in 2012 and again in May of this year. The Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services temporarily revoked custody of the boys from Mueller after determining she was not providing a fit living environment for her sons due to her ongoing drug use.
Sheen and Mueller have publicly circled a downward spiral together since the notorious Hollywood bad boy was arrested for choking his new wife on Christmas Eve of 2009, just months after the birth of their sons and little over a year of matrimony. By 2011, the two were divorced and the couple’s young boys had been removed from Sheen’s home under the dictates of a restraining order filed by Mueller.
Not exactly the most nurturing and cohesive family upbringing.
With two long-term drug-addicted parents, only a miracle can salvage the childhoods of Bob and Max Sheen. Let’s hope one of them is able to stay away from crack cocaine long enough to re-grow a few brain cells and actually rise to the responsibility of raising their children.
