Who would have guessed it? Yet more drama unfolded last week in the Miley Cyrus VMA aftermath. In the three weeks since her foam-fingered performance, Cyrus has received international public criticism, ‘mortified’ her fiancé, released a nearly nude music video (saved only by her tasteful choice to remain shoe-wearing), watched that video break records in viewing on VEVO and the single for it become her first Billboard 100 number one hit, all while promoting the Oct. 8 release of her new album, “Bangerz.”

Oh, and she broke up with her boyfriend.

Liam Hemsworth, 23, and Cyrus publicly announced the end of their 13-month engagement and four-year relationship on Monday, Sept. 16 after numerous rumors of an oncoming breakup in the wake of Miley’s VMA performance. The couple’s split seemed eminent after Cyrus unfollowed Hemsworth on Twitter two Saturdays ago amid gossip that he had been ‘sexting’ “Mad Men” actress January Jones, according to the New York Daily News. The break was made clear, however, last week when Hemsworth was caught coupling up on camera with Mexican actress and singer Eiza Gonzalez, also 23.

Hollywood Life reports the two got cozy during a recent trip to Las Vegas, prior to the official announcement of the formerly engaged cancelled nuptials. Hemsworth and Gonzalez allegedly left a nightclub together around 2 a.m. on Sept. 14 after chatting the entire evening. The two were then photographed in a lip-lock back in L.A. outside of Gonzalez’s apartment three days later, where Hemsworth purportedly appeared to return a piece of the new starlet’s luggage possibly left in his hotel room.

Hemsworth unfollowed Cyrus on Twitter that same day.

Despite the “Hunger Games” star’s apparent embrace of the bachelor life, Radar Online reported Hemsworth chivalrously offered that Cyrus keep the $250,000 engagement ring he proposed to her with.

The “Wrecking Ball” songstress has not made any public statements on any of her former fiancé’s recent actions.

In related celebrity news, Selena Gomez, 21, also has been reported to be moving on from her longtime ex, Justin Bieber, 19. Rumors have surfaced that Gomez may be dating a new man – British boy bander George Shelley, 20. The New York Daily News claims Shelley and his band, Union J, were flown to a show she performed in Portugal to sing onstage with her. Afterwards, Gomez supposedly invited Shelley back to her hotel room where they spent the night together.

E! Online reports a source close to Gomez denies that she and Shelley are dating, and that the two are “merely friends.”

Unromantically, pop queen Beyoncé, 32, was nearly pulled off stage by an overly-adoring fan at a concert she performed in Sao Paulo, Brazil last Tuesday. The international star was singing her hit, “Irreplaceable,” when a front-row concert attendee grabbed onto her leg and attempted to pull her into the crowd. Despite the distraction, the singer did not even miss a beat in her performance – she continued singing seamlessly as security personnel immediately removed the over-zealous fan from the stage’s proximity.

Beyoncé quickly cancelled out any ill feelings that might have been caused by the situation by addressing the fan only seconds later while he was being handled by security, “It’s alright, what’s your name?” she asked of him before reinstating her love for her fans, telling him directly, “Thank you, I love you too.” The diva then allowed him to remain in the audience, rather than removing him from the performance.

If only Cyrus and Hemsworth would take notes on Beyoncé’s behavior and add a bit of class to their professional and personal lives.
