Men’s basketball drops third straight game

The SCSU men’s basketball team had to fight from behind for the majority of the second half Saturday.

The Owls determination was not enough as UMass-Lowell defeated SCSU, 89-83, in a Northeast-10 Conference game at Moore Field House.

SCSU is now on a three-game losing streak.

The Owls had a 48-47 lead with 16 minutes left, but did not lead the rest of the game. SCSU crept within 81-76 with 1:49 left when Trevon Hamlet lost a defensive rebound, Leading to a Umass-Lowell layoup and a 83-76 lead.

Sophomore Dominique Langston led the Owls with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Greg Langston had 21 points. Luke Houston had 11 points. Tylon Smith had 10 points.

Sophomore Antonio Bivins led UMass-Lowell with 26 points and seven rebounds. Akeem Williams had 23 points. Dipankot Singh had 20 points.
