On Friday, Oct. 18, the university hosted the 39th annual High School Journalism Day. High schools from around the state brought their students to the university. Visiting students and staff were able to sit in on different sessions hosted by guest speakers and professors, each focused on different areas and expertises of journalism.
The keynote speaker for the event was Associated Press Reporter Lolita Baldor. Baldor detailed her experience covering national security and military issues and held a Q&A with students. The day was a success, with a turnout of about 400 visiting students.
