Students on campus who may be wondering where they can find good concerts to attend at affordable prices can look no further than Toad’s Place. Located at 300 York Street in downtown New Haven.

This venue has been a staple for a diverse amount of underground bands, rappers and pop artists.

If anyone is looking to hear new artists play or see one of your favorite artists up close and personal, Toad’s Place’s fall lineup is packed with talent for all ages.

Students who enjoy pop music can check out the 90’s pop brother band Hanson on their Musical Ride Tour on Saturday, October 8th. Tickets are 25 dollars in advance and 30 dollars the day of the show. If students are looking for a more mellow pop sound, check out Kevin Devine, coming October 23. Tickets are 12 dollars in advance and $14 the day of the show.

For those who enjoy rock-alternative music, Badfish, A Tribute to Sublime along with Scotty Don’t and Spiritual Rez are making their way to Toad’s main stage on October 21st. Tickets are 15 dollars in advance and 20 dollars the day of show.

If harder rock is ones style, GWAR, originally from Virginia, the band is best known for its horror/sci-fi costumes robotic and prop monsters, creatures, beasts, and other things, and obscene lyrics. Tickets for QWAR are 22 dollars in advance and 25 dollars the day of show.

But for those who are not into rock at all, then look no further than Sept. 9th when Royce da 5’9 will tear down the stage. Royce da 5’9 is a long time friend of the multi-platinum selling artist, Eminem and they recently released an joint EP album entitled, “Hell: The Sequel.” Opening up for him is local Connecticut rapper, Duece Bug along with his hypeman, Chuck “Itz Urboi” Nickels.

The local talent performing at the venue is immense this semester. Check out The Dean’s List, who is a trio rap music group out of Boston, along with rapper OnCue out of Hartford. Tickets are 12 dollars in advance and 14 dollars the day of the show.
