Students who are interested in photography are in luck as the new photography club makes its way on campus.

The club has been up and running since late fall of 2024 and already boasts 16 members in a short period of time.

Interdisciplinary studies major Sophia Gugliotti, a sophomore, is the current president and helped create this club.

“Exposure Photography Club has actually been an on and off running club on campus,” Gugliotti said.

Business major Zach McCarthy, a freshman, is a member of the Exposure Photography Club.

“I was glad to join the photo club because I love photography, and I want to get better at capturing the world around me. I am also glad to meet people who share this kind of passion and enthusiasm,” McCarthy said.

The club is looking to host a plethora of events this semester and in the fall.

“So, we are hoping around October or November, preferably October of this year we will be having a photography exhibition,” Gugliotti said. “It will probably be off campus but everyone in the club will be displaying their work.”

Studio art major Tiara Pagan, a freshman, joined for the shared love for photography.

“I like being in the Exposure Photography Club.  I joined because there are not a lot of people, I know who understand photography and my love for it. I can connect with people who understand and I’m really looking forward to the exhibition in October/November,” Pagan said.

Photography major Xui Davis, a freshman, wanted to perfect his photography craft.

“I decided to join the Exposure Photography Club because I have a deep love for photography. I believe this club will help me gain confidence in my skills as well as giving me a sense of community,” Davis said.

If interested in the Exposure Photography Club, then you should attend one of the body meetings you can find on OwlConnect.

“I just want everyone to know that anyone can join the Exposure Photography Club no matter what your experience is,” Gugliotti said. “Its really meant to be an inclusive, safe space for all creative minds.”

The club meetings are sporadic as they are held  every other Wednesday at 1 p.m. in Earl Hall Room 211.
