Campus Memorial Gathering for those who Died in Newtown Shootings

The victims from last Fridays tragedy who had ties to include: Principal Dawn Lafferty Hochsprung, who earned a master’s degree in special education in 1997, and a sixth-year certificate in educational leadership in 1998; school psychologist Mary Sherlach and teacher Anne Marie Murphy, who took graduate-level classes during the late 80s and early 90s, and teacher Victoria Soto, who was currently taking classes toward a master’s degree in special education, stated by Patrick Dilger, Director of Public Affairs at Southern Connecticut State University.

Southern will be holding a memorial service today, Tuesday Dec. 18th, to remember those who were lost at the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown. The service will commence at 3 p.m. in the ballroom lobby of the Adanti Student Center.

The Southern News Staff’s thoughts and condolences go out to the families who’ve lost a loved one during this tragedy.
