The senior guard said she has been playing for as long as she can remember.

“I started playing when I was very, very little,” Fantini said. “And I haven’t stopped since.”

Fantini is a native of Andover, Mass. and after attending the Suffield Academy as team captain, Fantini led Andover High School to the Eastern Mass. Championship and was selected MVP of the team and a league All-Star.

Going into this season, Fantini’s last, she said she is excited to see how the team plays together, including how well the incoming freshmen players perform.

“I can’t wait to see how our defense is,” Fantini said, “that’s what we practiced our hardest on.”

Fantini said that the Owls as a team will look to crash the boards and play strong on-the-ball defense.

Fantini said she is looking forward to the team building off the strong season the Owls had last year and continuing that success or even surpassing last season’s achievements.

She said this season is important and she looking forward to getting it underway.

“This is my last year,” she said. “It’s a little bittersweet.”

Fantini and her teammates started the season by winning their first game at home against Dowling College with the final score 70-68. Fantini had six points, eight steals, four assists, and one rebound.
