Members of the Southern Connecticut Karate team traveled to Western New England University on Sunday March 11 to participate against Rutgers University, Central Connecticut State University and the host Western New England University. Southern’s intermediate team of Ceasar Garcia, Joshua Kish and Christian Hernandez got a second place finish in team sparring. The advance squad, from left to right, Reina Melendez, Akitunde Sogunro, Jremy Flanders and Blake Williams finished first place overall. Southern will host their own tournament on Saturday, April 14 at Pelz Gymnasium at 10 a.m
