When is it time for America to say ‘enough is enough?’

The President addressed the nation concerning a proposed bill that he would like the Senate to pass. This bill is the American Jobs Act. The President told Congress to put their bipartisanship aside and pass this bill. He promised to create tax cuts for small businesses, create jobs and help boost the economy.
However, this be told, if it was that easy then why hasn’t it been done? Does anyone else feel that the politicians are no longer looking out for us? Do they have our best interest at heart? When is it time to say “enough is enough?”
Our Congress has not put America first. It has put elections first. It has not learned to put aside party lines. Most importantly, it has yet to learn how to compromise. Why should it care if it gets paid, even if the government was shut down? As citizens, we need to fix these issues.
As citizens, we have rights, liberties and freedoms. Hold your representatives and senators accountable. Become active in issues and the community. Vote or run for office.
As a people, we need to make our voices be heard. Our America is losing jobs and drowning in debt while remaining unable to boost the economy. Something needs to be done, but we must remember that this is not the first time.
Alexander Hamilton became the Secretary of Treasury under George Washington. He warned that debts needed to be paid. An industrial economy would ensure growth and create jobs.
Franklin D. Roosevelt did the same. After the crash of 1929, he created jobs by having artists design works on bridges. He created Social Security to care for the elderly.
These are just two examples of how we have grown as a nation. We will continue to grow, get stronger and better. Now, we just have to figure out how. Any ideas?
