The SCSU alert system was put to the test on Wednesday March 13, 2013, when the Hamden Police Department sent out an alert about a report of a gunman. The gunman was reported to be at the Hamden Transfer Station on Wintergreen Ave.
This report is under investigation by Hamden Police.
The SCSU alert advises people to stay away from Wintergreen Ave., beyond the new parking garage. The alert was sent out around 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday.
